Visitor visa is used by travelers to enter Canada temporarily for the following reasons: to visit the country as a tourist, visit family and friends, do business or transit through Canada.
Purpose – this visa lets you to visit Canada for business reasons.
Eligibility – to have enough funds for your travel and stay in Canada, participation in a conference, trade fair or seminar in Canada, to consult with business associates, negotiate a contract, look for ways to grow your business or to invest, to get training by Canadian parent company for your work outside Canada or you provide training for the employees of a Canadian branch of your foreign company.
Important – you are not allowed to take employment.
Length of stay – up to 6 months. The Immigration Canada officials have authority at the port of your entry (generally an airport or land border) to determine how long you may stay in Canada.
Visa processing fee – CAD $100 (additional CAD $85 if you are obliged to provide biometrics at the nearest Visa Application Centre (VAC)). This is the fee which is payable to Immigration Canada to process your application.
Processing time – up to 11 days.
Purpose – this visa lets you to visit Canada as a tourist for sightseeing – to have holiday, to visit friends and family.
Eligibility – to be a genuine visitor (which means that you plan to remain in Canada for a specific period and leave the country), you have enough funds for your travel and stay in Canada, you have binding ties with your country of residence that will ensure your departure from Canada at the end of your visit, have no criminal or immigration-related convictions and bee in good health.

Visa processing fee – CAD $100 (additional CAD $85 if you are obliged to provide biometrics at the nearest Visa Application Centre (VAC)). This is the fee which is payable to Immigration Canada to process your application.
Processing time – up to 11 days.
Purpose – this visa lets you to visit your children or grandchildren who are either Canadian citizens or permanent residents for up to 2 years at a time. If you want to stay for up to 6 months or less, you must apply for a visitor visa.
Eligibility – to be a genuine visitor (which means that you plan to remain in Canada for a specific period and leave the country), you must have a letter of invitation from your child or grandchild, evidence of your relationship to the Canadian citizen or permanent resident ( e.g. birth certificate, baptismal certificate or other official documents naming you as parent or grandparent), proof that you have private medical insurance valid for a minimum of one year from a Canadian insurance company, you have enough funds for your travel and stay in Canada, biometrics and medical examination results.

Processing time – up to 78 days.
If your intention is to study in Canada, you must obtain a study permit.
Purpose – this permit lets you to study in Canada.
Eligibility – you must have enough funds for your entire study and stay in Canada, to be enrolled as a full-time student in course of study and to provide evidence, your school must be approved and have to be on the Designated Learning Institutions List (DLI), to meet the English language requirements, have adequate health insurance and that you have genuine intention to study.
Note: All primary and secondary schools in Canada are designated learning institutions. Therefore, they are not included on the DLI list.
Important – you can study at any school in Canada without a study permit if your course or program lasts 6 months or less. If you are registered as a full-time student at a DLI and if you have a study permit, you may be able to work on-campus or of campus. You have right to work part-time 20 hours per week while studying and full-time during the holidays.
If your application is approved, you will get a Letter of Introduction which is a document sent from a visa office to confirm approval of a study permit and/or a work permit. You need to show this letter to an officer when you arrive to Canada. With this letter the visa office will send you an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) or a visitor visa to enter Canada.
Length of stay – as long as you are enrolled in the school to complete your academic program. After the program ends you will have 90 days to depart Canada.
